On Saturday, October 24th, 2009, Pennsylvania Rainbow hosted a special meeting and dinner to honor Mrs. Shirley B. Capo, Worthy Grand Matron and Mr. Harvey F. Fishel, Worthy Grand Patron, of the Grand Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star in Pennsylvania.

The events took place at the Mars Masonic Hall, in Mars, PA. A meeting was opened in proper form which then led into an initiation for a new sister from Altoona Assembly No. 188(LT). With this initiate Altoona Assembly is only one member away from gaining its permanant charter! The ceremony was led by Sister Danielle Dunmire, Grand Worthy Advisor with assistance from many of the Grand Officers.

Following the meeting, the attendees were treated to an excellent meal hosted by Kaitlin Nemec, Grand Worthy Associate Advisor, who acted as Mistress of Ceremonies and introduced the esteemed guests. The meal was expertly prepared by Mrs. Bea Green and her committee.

To add to the days festivities, the Masonic Hall was decorated with flamingos, one of Mrs. Capo's favorite animals! The event was a huge success with more than 100 attendees, including most of the Grand Officers from PA Rainbow and PA Eastern Star. To put an end to a great day, PA Rainbow presented Mrs. Capo with a monetary donation to her charity, Asthma research.
