Meet the Grand Worthy Advisor Hi Pennsylvania Rainbow! For those who do not know me, I am a two time past Worthy Advisor of Pitcairn Assembly #90. I have served Pennsylvania Rainbow as Personal Page to the Grand Worthy Advisor, Grand Worthy Associate Advisor and this year I am grateful to serve Pennsylvania as the Grand Worthy Advisor. I am a sophomore at Robert Morris University and I am majoring in nursing. At school, I am involved of the Student Nurses Association of Pennsylvania. In my free time I love to soak up the sun and play tennis every chance I get! I love to paint and be creative. If you did not know I am addicted to tie-dye and BIG bags. So, now I ask “What does happiness mean to you?” This year Pennsylvania is going to have a blast with Woodstock, Snoopy and Good Ol' Charlie Brown. My theme this year is “Happiness is Rainbow.” My mascots are the Peanuts characters and my flower is the sunflower. Did you know the sunflower follows the sun when it rises in the east and sets in the west. This year I hope to have it also symbolize the unity of eastern and western Pennsylvania Rainbow. My colors are Peppermint Patty green and Woodstock yellow. My song is “Happiness” by lyricist Clark Gesner. My bible verse is Psalms 68:3 “ But may the righteous be glad and rejoice before God; may they be happy and joyful.” My service project is Project Linus. Its mission is to provide love, a sense of security, warmth and comfort to children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need. This is accomplished through the gifts of new or handmade blankets and afghans. It gives children a feeling of comfort. Like Linus, it becomes their security blanket. I am passionate about this project, as it ties in with my nursing major, which I hope will someday lead me to working in a neonatal unit. Premature babies all need something to feel loved by. Most live in an incubator and cannot feel the warmth of their mother. My vision is to support Project Linus by collecting blankets. Now onto membership. Like you, I want to get as many girls in this year as we can. So the membership incentive is, if you are the first line signer on one petition you will receive an engraved dog tag key chain. If you are the first line signer for more than one then you receive a Charlie Brown T-shirt. The girl who first line signs the most petitions will receive her very own embroidered blanket personalized with her name and a rainbow. This year instead of receiving the incentive at grand assembly, we are going to pass the incentives out at Patton Weekends and Official Visits. This gives you the opportunity to show off your keychain and t-shirt at various events. Next year's Grand Assembly will feature Snoopy's dog house and there will be different size bones representing how many petitions each girl brought in. Throughout this year I will also be carrying around a little “HAPPINESS” notebook. I want to know what your happiness is so it can be displayed at grand assembly next year. I also want to learn your name! Give me a hand by doing that and introduce yourself, face to face, and you can tell me what happiness is to you! I hope that everyone is ready for a GREAT year. In Rainbow Love and Service, Kaitlin Nemec
